History

Karmaloop, founded in 1999, was created to be an alternative place for street fashion in a world overrun by Abercrombie zombies. One day the creators decided that it would be fun to start a website and receive clothing from brands from all over the world to sell (thus helping to end the world’s “zombercrombie” apocalypse). Against the odds, Karmaloop has survived the “dot com” explosion (or collapse if you think about it), and has become one of the most well known online shopping boutiques in the world.

Fun Karmaloop Facts:
- Every member of Karmaloop‘s staff is in their 20s’.
- Karmaloop‘s staff don’t just work for Karmaloop, they live it (and they have closets full of clothing from Karmaloop to prove it)!
- Karmaloop never received any venture investment and grew solely through the hard work of its staff.
- Karmaloop began on only one computer in a small apartment where all clothing was stored in parents’ basements, and orders were often carried in shopping bags via subway to the post office (can you believe it?)!

Despite people making a mockery of Karmaloop in its beginning stages and claiming that it would never flourish on the internet, look at it today! Karmaloop is now known worldwide with loyal customers from just about every corner of the world!
